In December, I will join pianist and composer Thierry Lang for a three-night residency at Chorus in Lausanne, as part of a special carte blanche dedicated to his music.
The residency opens on 17 December with an homage to the music of Bill Evans, featuring Thierry Lang, Daniel Perrin, Heiri Känzig and myself on drums.
On 18 December, I will perform with the Thierry Lang Quartet, alongside Matthieu Michel and Heiri Känzig, with special guest Anne-Florence Schneider. The evening will focus on Lang’s rich and distinctive repertoire.
The residency concludes on 19 December with a Thierry Lang Quintet, bringing together an exceptional line-up featuring French jazz figures Denis Leloup on trombone and Stéphane Guillaume on saxophone, alongside Heiri Känzig and myself.
Three consecutive evenings, three different formations, and an inspiring meeting of musicians from across the Swiss, French and European jazz scenes — all centred around the music of Thierry Lang.
